Get in

Buses are the most convenient way to get to Cao Bang since there is no rail connection. Cao Bang can be reach from neighboring provinces as well as from Hanoi. From Hanoi, there are several daily direct buses, which take up to nine hours, to get to Cao Bang. There are also buses from Northern provinces. A bus from Lang Son to Cao Bang, along the China-Vietnam border, takes 4-5 hours.

Get around

Tourists can travel around Cao Bang on foot or by motorbike taxis, which are convenient and cheap. Bang Giang River splits the city into two parts. The bus station is on the eastern side of the river. Crossing the bridge, you will find the main street of Kim Dong, the market and most of the hotels.
